On a visit to Belgium, Norway and Denmark from Nov. 12 to 21, a JNU delegation led by Vice President Rao Min carried out comprehensive exchanges with well-known local universities, embassies and consulates, overseas Chinese associations and schools, and representatives of JNU alumni, promoting international cooperation between JNU and European institutions of higher education.
At the Free University of Brussels in Belgium, the delegation discussed teacher and student exchanges, a joint cultivation program for both undergraduate and master’s degrees, and cooperation in scientific research cooperation, with the intention of signing a student exchange agreement.
At the University of Mons in Belgium, the delegation and the university reviewed achievements in photonics science by experts from both schools over the last decade and signed agreements on student exchanges.
At the University of Oslo in Norway, the delegation discussed cooperation with the Office of the President and the head of development planning. It also carried out in-depth exchanges with the departments of Chinese studies, sociology and history, as well as the library, reaching a preliminary intention of cooperation on a student exchange program.
At Aarhus University in Denmark, the delegation had a discussion with the Faculty of Culture and Languages about student exchange, visiting programs for teachers from partner schools and summer school, reaching an intention of cooperation.

At the Chinese School of Aarhus, the delegation visited classes and had in-depth discussions with students, parents, teachers and the principal on the Chinese language education to understand the current challenges in Chinese language education in Aarhus. The delegation and the school also exchanged views on the cooperation and guidance of teaching with the school.

In a discussion with the president and representatives of the Chinese Cultural Association in Aarhus, the delegation had in-depth exchanges on spreading Chinese cultural forms, including language, theater and dragon-lion dance.
During exchanges with the alumni in Belgium, Norway and Denmark, the delegation learned about their life and work in Northern Europe. It also discussed with them the building of JNU's Nordic Alumni Association and urged them to participate actively in their alma mater's 120th anniversary celebrations in 2026.
