The 2023-24 (11th) General Election of JNU's News Agency was held on Nov. 9, with members from five campuses in Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Shenzhen gathering together to witness the change of president and officders. 

The student news agency, formally established on March 11, 2014, under the guidance of JNU's Publicity Office of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee, has been committed to building itself as JNU's official News Agency. New recruits joined that September. Since its establishment, the news agency has attracted more than 600 members. 

We seem just to deliver news, but in reality our job is to spread the culture. said Su Yunsheng, deputy director of the Publicity Office and director of JNU’s Converged Media Center.

Li Weimiao, advisor of the news agency, said she had been witnessing the news agency’s growth and progress and expected its members to actively discover the hot spots around them and give a good narrative of JNU.

Su Qianyi, another advisor, extended a warm welcome to new members, described the news agency’s basic structure and emphasized its management norms.

Du Mingcan, Li Mei and Chen Guoqiong, instructors in JNU's Creative Communication Studio and Radio Station, affirmed the news agency's work. They encouraged the agency, the Creative Communication Studio and the radio station, which are affiliated with the Publicity Office, to strengthen cooperation, give full play to the advantages of the converged media, learn from one another and make progress together.

Su Yunsheng issued letters of appointment to the news agency's previous presidents Xu Nuo, Zhang Xiaotian and Yang Yichen; the new presidents, Yang Zhiyi, He Yongtao and Wu Siyuan; and the officers at the meeting

The new presidents and officers organized the new members to exchange gifts and wishes at the end of the general election, injecting warmth into the news agency.
