The Ministry of Education has officially approved the construction of an International Cooperation Joint Laboratory for Optoelectronic Hybrid Integrated Circuits at JNU.
The College of Science and Engineering concentrates on key scientific and technological issues related to optoelectronic hybrid chips, focusing on national strategic needs. It is collaborating with the University of Ottawa in Canada, the Femto Research Institute of the French Academy of Sciences, and the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom to establish the laboratory, on the basis of approval from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology of an Innovation and Talents Introduction Base for “Micro-Nano Optics and Photonic Device” in 2021. In the preliminary cultivation process, the joint lab received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China Projects of International Cooperation; international exchange and cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology; and international science and technology cooperation projects of Guangdong. It has achieved fruitful results in scientific research and talent cultivation, publishing a series of high-quality papers in journals including Nature Communications that were selected among the top 10 advancements in Chinese optics and honored as papers of the year by the French Academy of Sciences.
The joint laboratory's construction signifies a new milestone for the college in discipline construction and international cooperation and exchange.
