JNU held a kick-off meeting for laboratory waste gas treatment facilities new in 2023 on Nov. 10. The new facilities, which are in compliance with national laws and ecological environment departments, are intended to improve lab waste gas management capacity, meet emissions standards, and protect the health and safety of teachers and students.

The new project involves seven research departments, institutes, and research centers in eight colleges on the Shipai and Panyu campuses, with a total of 10 laboratory buildings and 52 laboratories. To promote pollution prevention and protect the university's ecological environment, JNU must satisfactorily supervise quality assurance, said Liu Qihui, director of the Laboratory and Equipment Management Office.
At the meeting, Huang Xiaoyong, chief of the Laboratory Technology and Safety Section in the Laboratory and Equipment Management Office, presented the specifics of the new laboratory waste gas facilities. Then all relevant units discussed problems that may be encountered during project implementation.
