A training course on the theme of preserving the academic experience of Prof. Yang Qinhe, a prominent expert on traditional Chinese medicine, and continuing education on the prevention and treatment of geriatric diseases, was held at Jinan University on Oct. 28. It was organized by JNU’s School of TCM, the First Affiliated Hospital of JNU and Yang’s workshop for transmitting TCM.

JNU Vice President Zhang Ronghua, on behalf of JNU, welcomed the participating leaders, guests, teachers and students. He said the school, in a university for overseas Chinese with a complete system of talent cultivation, had contributed to the cultivation of TCM talents in China, especially in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The training course promoted the development of TCM discipline.
Tang Zuxuan, a faculty member of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and a medical master, said it was the honorable mission of contemporary practitioners to pass on and develop the cause of TCM in the golden period of development. He encouraged students to be successors in the TCM cause and disseminators of TCM culture.

On behalf of the workshop, Yang expressed sincere gratitude to the participants. He said he hoped that, through the training course, TCM students could understand the unique advantages of TCM clinical treatment and feel the richness of TCM culture.
The lecture summarized Yang's academic experience, and discussed recent progress, achievements and experience in the prevention and treatment of geriatric disease, thus deepening and opening up basic research and clinical ideas in the field in Chinese medicine.
