JNU held its 2023 campus recruitment briefing for Hong Kong students on Oct. 24. The briefing was guided by the Ministry of Education's Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs and the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and organized by the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association (HKCEA). The briefing invited representatives of 21 Hong Kong Chinese enterprises, and attracted more than 200 Hong Kong students from JNU, Sun Yat-sen University and other universities in Guangdong.
JNU Deputy Party Secretary Xia Quan said the event was a positive initiative to build a ladder for Hong Kong students. JNU will continue to promote in-depth cooperation with the HKCEA and Hong Kong Chinese enterprises, he said, improving the mechanism of university-enterprise cooperation in educating students.
HKCEA Vice President Zeng Shendian noted that Hong Kong Chinese enterprises had been committed to promoting the economic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He said Hong Kong students should grasp opportunities and maximize their strengths.
The China Resources Group, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia), Ltd., and 10 other participating units made presentations, introducing students in detail to the nature of the organization, job requirements and salaries. JNU also set up recruitment booths for all participating companies to receive students’ resumes and conduct short interviews onsite.
The briefing provided Hong Kong students with many job opportunities and enhanced their understanding of Hong Kong Chinese enterprises and the job market. JNU will continue to hold special job fairs, visits to enterprises to broaden employment channels, and other special employment initiatives for different groups of graduates.
