All six projects submitted by JNU won prizes – one first, one second and four third – in the final round of the 18th Challenge Cup National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, held at Guizhou University from Oct. 27 to 31. The competition was jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the All-China Students' Federation, and the People's Government of Guizhou Province. Sun Yu, deputy secretary of the JNU Party Committee, led the JNU delegation participating in the competition.
The first prize went to Research on Mixed Electrolyzed Water and Zinc-Alcohol Air Battery Based on Ethanol Electrooxidation Reaction from the College of Science and. Engineering)
Second prize went to Tooth Implanting: Development of Novel Implants With Denture-Bone Interface Embedment, from the School of Stomatology and the College of Chemistry and Materials Science.
These projects won third prizes:
A Survey of the Current Situation and Mechanism Construction of Rural Press Officers Participating in Grassroots Governance: Based on Field Investigations in 21 Counties in Guangdong, from the School of Journalism and Communication.
Digital Triage Plan for Inclusive Medical Consultation: Research on Regional Hierarchical Medical Resource Allocation and Residents' Health-Seeking Behavior, from the School of Economics.
Is the 'Combined Fist' of Carbon Tax and Carbon Trading Effective? Laboratory Evidence from the Present Status of China's Carbon Pricing Policy, from the International Business School.

This year's Challenge Cup featured a 1+1+2 overall events framework consisting of the main competition, the special competition Open Bidding for Selecting the Best Candidates, the Red Special Activity and the Black Technology exhibition activity. It attracted participants from more than 2,000 universities nationwide, with over 2.5 million students and more than 400,000 projects.
