JNU and the China Association of Chinese Medicine co-hosted a symposium on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and the high-quality development of natural medicine discipline and industry in Guangzhou on from Oct/ 20 to 22.
(At the symposium)
JNU President Song Xianzhong said the university was dedicated to using modern science to interpret and unlock the potential of TCM while deciphering its secrets. In 2003, Yao Xinsheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Profs. Ye Wencai and Li Yuan jointly established the Institute of TCM and Natural Medicine. In 2016, Profs. Gao Hao and He Rongrong became director and deputy director, respectively. The institute has now formed a teaching and research team of academicians and talents at various levels from national and provincial departments. With achievements in applied basic research and transformation of scientific and technological breakthroughs, this team serves as the core component and key supporting force of JNU’s double-first-class discipline in pharmacy, as well as national key laboratories and projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Science Fund for Creative Research Groups.
