The Pan Xulun Accounting Thought Academic Seminar, hosted by JNU's School of Management and co-organized by the Guangzhou Institute of Certified Public Accountants, was held in JNU's School of Management on Oct. 20. Experts and scholars from the Ministry of Finance's Accounting Department and more than 20 universities attended, along with over 50 teachers and students from the School of Management.

Liu Guangzhong, first-class inspector of the ministry's Accounting Department and secretary-general of the Accounting Society of China, emphasized in his speech that it was necessary for JNU to hold this seminar to promote the further development of the accounting industry. 

In a keynote speech on the theme Inheriting Mr. Pan's Long-Cherished Wish and Developing the Future of Accounting,” JNU President Song Xianzhong pointed out that the Department of Accounting in JNU's School of Management, founded by Pan Xulun in 1925, had a history of nearly 100 years. Song reviewed Pan's work history and important contributions at JNU. Today, with the re-establishment of the discourse power of global accounting, we should better cherish Pan's thought, carry forward his noble style and pass on his sublime spirit, Song said.

Fang Hongxing, president of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, reminisced about Pan from the aspects of his character and his professional and academic achievements.
