Prof. Ning Yin’s research group from JNU's College of Chemistry and Materials Science has reported a breakthrough in the spatially controllable embedding of nanocomposite particles within calcite single crystals by manipulating the interfacial supra-assembly of polymer nanoparticles via electrostatic interaction. The results present an entirely new strategy for the preparation of crystalline nanocomposite materials with controlled internal composition and structure.
They have been published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, an international top-tier journal, under the title Interfacial Supra-Assembly of Copolymer Nanoparticles Enables the Formation of Nanocomposite Crystals With a Tunable Internal Structure. The first author is Zhao Zhenghong, a 2021 doctoral student, and Ning is the corresponding author. JNU is the sole corresponding unit.
This is another significant research result for Prof. Ning's research group, following publication in the journal Angewandte Chemie International Edition in March.
