A roundtable forum on Strategies and Paths for Building a Strategic Pivot in the New Development Paradigm of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held at JNU on Sept. 2. The forum was co-organized by the Guangzhou Association of Social Science Societies, Jinan University, and Hong Kong and Macao Journal.

In light of the recently released Development Plan for Shenzhen Park of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, experts and scholars from Beijing, Zhejiang and Guangdong discussed topics including the characteristics of the Greater Bay Area as a strategic pivot in forming a new development paradigm at the new development stage; the roles and development paths of the four core cities in the Greater Bay Area in building the strategic pivot; and the development strategies of the manufacturing and service industry of the Greater Bay Area in the dual-circulation development pattern.

The Greater Bay Area Economic Development Research Center, established by Jinan University, is a key research base for the humanities and social sciences in Guangzhou. Leveraging the research strength of JNU’s economic disciplines, the center has actively conducted theoretical discussions and provided advisory services on decision-making about the construction of the Greater Bay Area.
