A launching ceremony on Shipai campus on July 6 marked the beginning of the 2023 Summer Activity on Three Rural Areas, the 100-1,000-10,000 Cultural Project, China's Fast West (Mountain Regions) Program, Rural Revitalization Action, and the Youth Pre-Employment Training Program for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan college students' internships, with current students and 2023 graduates participating. Over 300 people attended, including Sun Yu, deputy secretary of the JNU Party Committee; leaders of relevant JNU departments; leaders of the Communist Youth League of JNU campuses and colleges; the secretary of the Youth League Committee, and representatives of the summer social practice teams.

At the ceremony, Sun awarded flags to representatives of volunteer teams in the programs. 

Two projects proposed by JNU have been approved by the Guangdong provincial government as excellent demonstration seed projects. Under the 100-1,000-10,000 Cultural Project,” 12 teams were dispatched to villages in Guangdong to carry out practical services. Nearly 20 volunteers in the Western (Mountain Regions) Program were going to villages in Tibet, Xinjiang and Guangdong to serve one to three years. Nearly 1,100 students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enrolled in the Youth Pre-Employment Training Program were sent to different parts of Guangdong for internships after completing job-matching.
