Chen Haiqi, a member of JNU's 2019 class in international journalism, achieved near-perfect scores in multiple courses, with an average GPA of 4.31, ranking first in her major. She has been admitted to Peking University's School of Journalism and Communication for a master's degree.
She won multiple scholarships and awards, including the National Scholarship, the Arawana Charity Foundation Scholarship, Jinan Star and Art Star.
She participated in two national-level projects and one provincial-level project, and she was selected for the United Nations Youth Leadership Development Program.
Chen actively participated in nearly 400 provincial and municipal sports events while also serving as the leader of the JNU's orchestra. In her junior year, she led the orchestra to participate in various events and competitions, including the Guangdong Music Invitational Competition and the Guangdong Excellent Art Troupe Exhibition Performance, achieving excellent results.
I chose international journalism because I aspire to become a sports journalist, said Chen, who enrolled in International Journalism at JNU after learning that her major would be taught entirely in English.
To date, Chen and her classmates, under the guidance of their instructors, have submitted 26 decision-making reports.

As an international journalism student, she placed significant emphasis on language-learning. During her sophomore year, she studied independently for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and achieved an impressive score of 8.0, with an exceptional 9.0 in the listening section. Since graduating in June, during her free time, she also attended courses in Korean and Spanish, expanding her proficiency in diverse languages.

Chen left a colorful mark in her life's journey with her participation in the school's women's soccer and basketball teams, swimming competitions and running races.
