The Huo Yingdong Gymnasium on JNU's Panyu Campus was abuzz with excitement on June 20. An array of calligraphy works on display reflected the distinct styles of students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese communities. Walking down the red carpet, nearly 1,000 students from these regions adorned themselves in traditional Chinese attire like round-collared robes and Zhongshan suits. It was Sihai College's 2023 graduation ceremony. (Sihai, translated as Four Seas, indicates the spread of Chinese culture to all corners of the world.)
