The signing ceremony for JNU's fourth Quiet and Far-Reaching project in the humanities and social sciences was held on June 25.
Deputy Secretary Xia Quan congratulated the teams and individuals whose projects won awards. He encouraged them to carry out the project with the original intention. He stressed that, first, they should plan ahead to serve China's major strategic needs; second, they should adhere to the three orientations of scientific research – problem-oriented, goal-oriented and result-oriented – to achieve innovation-driven high-quality development; and third, young researchers should stick to the righteousness and innovation, actively taking the lead.
Huang Xiaoyan, deputy director of the Social Science Research Department, introduced the general situation of the project evaluation This group of projects gives priority to research on such themes as Chinese Path to Modernization, The Great United Front, High-Quality Development, Greater Bay Area Development and One Belt, One Road Initiative. The project keeps up with the times with additional types of philosophical and social science laboratories. It also increases stable support for young teachers under t40; meanwhile and moderately increases financial support for the Shenzhen and Zhuhai campuses around JNU's one body, two wings”development idea.
Representatives of the first three projects were invited to share their experiences in implementing the project.
At the signing ceremony, the leaders in charge of the project signed the contracts one by one on stage and solemnly promised to complete the projects on time and with quality.
