Smog Doctor: A Pioneer in Surgical Smoke Purification, a project by Siyang Liu's team from JNU's School of Environment, won an Outstanding Prize, the Best Project Award and the Most Popular Award in the finals of the 17th Winning in Innovation competition hosted by the Academic Affairs Office on Shipai campus on June 1. Ten teams made it to the finals.
New Blue Ocean in Pet Food-Borne Pathogens Prevention by Yuxuan Ji's team from the International School also won an Outstanding Prize. First prizes were awarded to Immersive Live-Action Role-Playing Games Design, Cultural Tourism Plus Live Action by Xinyan Hou's team from the College of Arts; AIEP – AI for Industries: Digital Iterative System Integrating Human Intelligence and Virtual Reality by Deng Chi's team from the School of Intelligent System Science and Engineering; and AI Drug Discovery Paradigm: A Deep-Perceptive Integrated Drug Development Platform With Multi-Targeted Molecule Discovery Technology by Tianyue Liu's team from the College of Information Science and Technology.

Launched in 2013, Winning in Innovation has become a characteristic brand of JNU's double innovation education. To date, it has held 80 competitions with more than 14,000 participants. More than 100 SCI/EI indexed papers have emerged from the competition, and more than 30 prizes from this competition went on to win awards in the National College Student Innovation Annual Meeting, the Challenge Cup and other competitions.
