JNU held its second Ethnic Cultural Festival at the auditorium on the main campus on May 22. With the theme of Love for China from Around the World, the festival created a visual and acoustic feast that gathered cultural resources of various ethnic groups, introduced innovative performance forms, and helped forge a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation on campus.

Over 150 students and faculty members from various colleges participated in the performances, including students from 26 different ethnic groups, such as Tibetan, Mongolian, Uyghur and She, as well as students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and overseas Chinese.

The festival started with the folk music ensemble Splendid China, followed by Dancing China, a folk-dance medley performed by the students' art troupe. Next came the performance Vibrant Jinan by the JNU International Diabolo Club and the JNU Ballroom Dancing Association; a short play, A Stamp, The Happy Nadam Fair, a Mongolian dance; a recitation, I See My Motherland in a Pomegranate, and a dance performance, Amazing China.

In Elegant Costumes of China, students from various ethnic groups and from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan showed the beauty of ethnic culture through colorful ethnic costumes.
