A delegation of 28 students and teachers from Escuela Internacional Si Miao Wei Hua in Ecuador visited the Prescription and Syndrome Research Center at JNU's School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and School of Stomatology on May 4.

The delegation first went to the TCM school, where they attended a special lecture on traditional Chinese medicine. JNU Vice President Ye Wencai gave basic information on JNU, including campus construction, schools and departments, and academic disciplines, to encourage students to apply to it. Dean Chen Jiaxu lectured on “Theory and Culture of Traditional Chinese Medicine,” vividly describing traditional Chinese medicine from the aspects of cultural connotation, historical development and basic theories.

The delegation then went to the School of Stomatology, where they visited the clinical skills training room, head-simulator training room, specimen room, dental materials laboratory, cell cultures room and molecular biology laboratory. Guided by the lab teachers, they experienced the digital virtual simulation training system in endodontics and head-simulator training, and also learned the basics of dental care and oral health. The advanced experimental and teaching equipment, as well as a wide variety of specimens and experimental materials on display, which aroused their interest in stomatology and informed them about teaching and scientific research in stomatology at JNU.
