Supervised by Prof. Wang Chenming, Yang has participated in Wang's research group since his freshman year, when Yang presided over a provincial college student innovation and entrepreneurship training program (CSIETP). The scientific research team organized by him and his classmates, whose head teacher is Liao Xiaojian, won first prize in the finals of the National Chemistry Experiment Innovation and Design Competition for College Students twice consecutively. It has published 16 academic papers, five with students as the first authors; presided over two national and two provincial CSIETPs, and was honored as a JNU 5A Outstanding Class.
