It has been 10 years since JNU launched the overall construction of Panyu campus on March 18, 2013. In the second phase of its construction, people are wondering what the campus will look like and what features it will add.

JNU's Infrastructure Construction Office recently reported on the official website that Panyu campus's construction work on buildings T8 and T9, two student dormitories, began on Feb. 20, marking the start of a new round of comprehensive construction on the campus. When this construction is finished, Panyu campus is expected to accommodate more than 26,000 teachers and students.

After the completion, the Panyu campus will not only be more beautiful but also boast solid strengths to gather first-class discipline groups and cultivate high-quality talents to serve China's major strategic needs.

According to the school's overall layout, the Panyu campus second-phrase project focuses on building five centers: the Overseas Talent Training Center, Science and Education Innovation Center, Industry-University-Research Collaboration Center, International Cooperation Center and Chinese Culture Communication Center. These centers aim to cultivate emerging and interdisciplinary disciplines, focusing on world-class disciplines including pharmacy, optoelectronic information and ecological environment, as well as high-end think-tank construction.

The second-phrase construction is progressing steadily, with buildings T8 and T9, scheduled to be ready for use in June 2024. With other functional groups set to commence construction in 2024, the second-phase project is expected to be substantially completed by 2026.

From farmland and ponds to spacious and bright teaching buildings and libraries, the Panyu campus is increasingly well established, attracting more and more students to create unforgettable memories of their youth there.
