Based on the high-level faculty team and specialized training platform of JNU's economics discipline, the Top Talents Program advocates a student-centered, talent-based approach to cultivating undergraduate research talents.
At the ceremony, IESR Dean Feng Shuaizhang shared his opinions on the purposes, proper attitudes and methods of scientific research on economics. He emphasized the importance of a pure purpose and a truth-seeking spirit in the process of academic research; pointed out that honesty is researchers' most valuable asset; and summarized three major approaches to academic research on economics: diligence, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary thinking.
The selected students came from all the undergraduate majors offered by the College of Economics and IESR: economics, finance, international economics and trade, public finance, taxation, and economic statistics.
