JNU held a conference to arrange the key work of this semester on March 16. Vice President Weng Jian presided, and more than 70 people attended, including leaders in charge of undergraduate teaching from various campuses, colleges and departments; directors of educational offices, and Undergraduate School staff members.

Weng fully affirmed JNU's recent achievements in undergraduate discipline construction, curriculum construction, entrepreneurship and innovation, undergraduate enrollment, and teaching competitions, among others. He also conveyed the key emphases in undergraduate education put forward by the Guangdong Department of Education for 2023: continuing the construction of first-class disciplines and curriculum; strengthening talent-training in basic sciences; improving the quality of school-running of industrial colleges; developing teachers' professional competence; and deepening the reform of the innovation and entrepreneurship education system through competitions and activities.
Zhang Xiaoxin, executive dean of JNU's Undergraduate School and dean of the Academic Affairs Office, put forward requirements for key undergraduate teaching work this semester. They include taking solid steps in online and offline teaching; attaching great importance to the self-assessment of JNU's work in building national first-class undergraduate discipline construction sites; making solid strides in constructing undergraduate teaching projects; boosting practical teaching; and better examining curriculums and textbooks.
He Qingwen, vice dean of the Undergraduate School and dean of the School of Entrepreneurship, briefly summarized efforts to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. Zhang Guiguo, vice dean and director of the Undergraduate Admissions Office, presented the endeavor to improve the quality of undergraduate enrollment. Xiong Weihua, vice dean and director of the Teacher Development Centers, proposed to strengthen the construction of grassroots teaching organizations to enhance teaching competence.
