Symposium on public administration held at JNU

A symposium titled The Development of the Public Administration Discipline: Opportunities and Challenges jointly hosted by JNU's School of Public Administration/School of Emergency Management and other institutions, was held both online and offline on Dec. 17 at Jinan University. It presented discussions on topics promoting Chinese modernization, as well as opportunities and challenges in developing the public administration discipline.

 

Nearly 90 guests, experts and scholars attended from JNU, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Sun Yat-sen University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Jilin University, Central South University, Xiamen University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Lanzhou University, Northwest University, China University of Mining and Technology, South China University of Technology, Central China Normal University, South China Agricultural University, Hainan University, and Capital University of Economics and Business.

JNU Deputy Party Secretary Sun Yu told attendees that innovating public administration, emergency management, public policy and government management was becoming increasingly important as uncertainty and instability increased internationally. Meanwhile, he said, the popularity and in-depth application of modern information technology also bring new opportunities and challenges to the development of public administration discipline.

The symposium included four keynote reports, with 26 experts and scholars delivering speeches.
