Their research is the first realization of the most general control of light fields by optical structures with the highest DOFs in nature, laying a sound foundation for achieving any complex optical functionality allowed in nature. The findings were published under the title Observation of full-parameter Jones matrix in bilayer metasurface. Prof. Cheng-Wei Qiu of the National University of Singapore; Prof. Nan Fan of JNU's Institute of Nanophotonics; and Yan Jiahao and Yang Xianguang, associate professors in the institute, made important contributions.
This research was supported by the General Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Fostering Program of the foundation's Major Research Plan, and the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province for Distinguished Young Scholars.
