Hu Yi, a teacher in JNU's School of Medicine, won third prize and Jin Yanshuo, a teacher in the College of Science and Engineering, won a prize for excellence In the 2022 Guangdong Science Popularization Contest at Guangdong Science Center on Aug. 19. After preliminary and final contests, 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 15 third prizes and some prizes for excellence were awarded. 

Speaking on how immunity can protect health, Hu explained that boosting immunity is the key to preventing disease. Jin spoke on new energy lithium-ion batteries and their relative safety problems.

The contest, with the theme Walk into science and technology, was sponsored by Guangdong Department of Science and Technology, Department of Education Provincial Association for Science and Technology. It is the largest, most extensive and most representative science popularization contest in Guangdong. Since 2019, it has been held four times at the Guangdong Science Center, to build learning, exchange and exhibition platforms for science and technology workers, science popularization workers and science- lovers.
