JNU Party Secretary, Lin Rupeng visited Zheng Xincong, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao and vice chairman of JNU's Board of Trustees, and Yan Zhichan, the office's deputy director, on Sept. 19.

Lin expressed his gratitude to Zheng and the Liaison Office for their longstanding support for JNU. He reported on the university's administration in recent years in terms of student training, serving the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and enrollment from Macao. He said JNU was a top choice for overseas Chinese and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. At present, nearly 2,000 students from Macao are studying at Jinan University and nearly 30,000 alumni in various industries and sectors are making significant contributions to the social and economic development of Macao, he said.
JNU has cultivated many outstanding talents who love China and Macao, Zheng said, and they have made important contributions to Macao's return and its social prosperity and stability. He said he hoped JNU would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all circles in Macao; devote itself to the construction of the Greater Bay Area and Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin; and keep working on cultivating Macao's talents and social development Meanwhile, he said, the Liaison Office would, as always, support the development of education of JNU.
