JNU held a Commendation Conference on Sept. 9 to celebrate 2022 Teachers' Day, extending warmest greetings and best wishes to the entire JNU faculty.
More than 170 people attended, including JNU leaders, Party principals, administrators of the directly affiliated research institutes, representatives of honored teachers, retired faculty representatives, faculty representatives who have worked at JNU for 30 years, new faculty members and student representatives.

Extending warm greetings to teachers on behalf of JNU, JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng said faculty members should be morally self-cultivated, academically concentrated, and pioneering in spirit.

Prof. Chen Tianfeng of the College of Chemistry and Materials Science spoke as a representative of outstanding teachers. He said he looked back proudly on his time at JNU and would carry forward the spirit of Jinan people, deepening scientific research to contribute to China. Wu Han, a senior in the School of Public Administration/School of Emergency Management, spoke as a student representative, recounting her experience at JNU and expressing sincere blessings to all teachers.
The meeting commended individuals and teams who have made key achievements in 2021-22, as well as advanced collectives or individuals winning teaching and research awards.
The meeting honored faculty members with 30 years' service, held an emeritus ceremony for retirees and welcomed new members with a swearing-in ceremony.
Vice President Zhang Ronghua declared JNU's Decision on Giving Su a Great Achievement Award for donating 1 million yuan to promote the establishment of the 983 High-Level Athletes Training Fund. In the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, JNU's Su Bingtian set a new Asian record, clocking 9.83 seconds in the men's 100-meter semi-finals and becoming the first Asian in the new era to qualify for the Olympic 100-meter finals.
