Three JNU teachers and 28 outstanding young students attended a seminar for JNU's outstanding student leaders from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in Beijing from Aug. 14 to 20, hosted by the Academy of Chinese Culture (also known as the Central Institute of Socialism).
The seminar was the academy's first on national conditions especially for JNU students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. It was also the first time JNU organized students to carry out training at the academy. The weeklong studying and training included eight special lectures, three field trips, group discussions and presentations.

In the opening speech, Zhao Xia, vice director of the academy's Academic Affairs Division, encouraged trainees to continue to cultivate patriotism, vigorously promote Chinese culture and assume their responsibility as students in fulfilling the Chinese Dream of achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
In the lectures, famous teachers and scholars spoke on topics from the perspectives of politics, economics, culture, history and international relations. The topics covered the Communist Party of China and the Chinese nation's great rejuvenation; the one country, two systems practice and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; the macro-economic and employment situation; socialist modernization and classic Chinese traditional culture; and the international situation and international relations.
Trainees made field trips to the Beijing Iflytek Co., Ltd., the Museum of the Communist Party of China and the Palace Museum.
