With support from the College of Arts, Jinan University was again selected as a Chinese Literature and Art Review Base in the second list of 15 institutions, announced on Aug. 1 by the China Literature and Art Critics Association. The director of the base is Jiang Shuzhuo, chairman of the Guangdong Writers Association.
The association and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles opened
It is an impressive event for Guangdong literary and art critics circles that JNU has been included into the base for twice, which will in return play a positive role in promoting Guangdong literary and art critics,” Jiang said.
He said the construction of the base was of great significance: it is conducive to building a platform for a series of seminars on literary and cultural issues in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; it will gather strength by bringing together the literary and art criticism forces of cultural institutions and universities in Guangdong; and it is beneficial to training more young critics. The JNU Chinese Literature and Art Review Base will carry out literary and art review work in the two aspects of “Chinese literature and art present compelling Chinese stories” and “symposiums on key literary and artistic works are held in Greater Bay Area.” At the same time, criticism in Guangdong will be given greater focus, further improving its quality and forming a more unique style.
In addition, to promote literary development in the Greater Bay Area and the building of the Humanities Bay Area, the base will hold a series of targeted symposiums on key literary and artistic works mainly from the three dimensions of Lingnan culture, literary and artistic classics of the Greater Bay Area, and youth literary arts creation.
