On behalf of the United Front Work Department, the Guangdong Department of Education organized five experts from the Ministry of Education to conduct security checks in JNU labs on June 28.

In the meeting, Prof. Fang Yanxiong, who led the expert group, described the background, features and requirements of the on-site inspection. Li Ting, director of JNU’s Lab and Facilities Office, reported progress on securing lab safety at JNU, including the results of self-inspection, hidden danger rectification, and the implementation of the Ministry of Education’s special project on lab safety.

After the meeting, the five experts were split up into three groups. They inspected labs of the College of Life Science and Technology, the School of Medicine, the Institute of Medical Microbiology, the College of Pharmacy, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Institute of CNS Regeneration, and the College of Chemistry and Material Science. They also carefully examined relevant archival materials about the responsibility system for lab safety and capacity-building.
