At JNU Science Park (Zhuhai), the Power Supply Center has been completed, four research-and-development and industrial buildings have started construction in the central area, and the control node project has been launched. The project is a milestone in building a demonstration area for scientific and technological innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

With 16 buildings to be constructed, the Science Park is expected to cover about 77,000 square meters, with a floor area of 271,500 square meters, at a cost of 2.38 billion yuan. It will be built into a full-chain platform that integrates basic research, applied research, achievement transformation and achievement trading. It is committed to carrying out application transformation research in new energy, biomedicine and comprehensive health, enabling Zhuhai campus to cultivate talents and creating a multi-dimensional science and technology innovation system that links government, universities and enterprises. 

JNU's Affiliated Kindergarten in Zhuhai city's Xiangzhou district was filled with children's laughter. Unveiled in March, the kindergarten is the first jointly established by the university and the local government. As the supporting facility of the park, the kindergarten has created 12 classes with enrollment of 360.

The construction of the Science Park's supporting primary school is in full swing. According to the construction plan, the primary school is proposed to have 36 classes to meet the needs of children of faculty members and school-age pupils in the surrounding area. 

Facilities construction in the Science Park has made steady progress since the first three buildings were completed in January 2020. The program for relocation and resettlement has been accomplished at a 90 percent level. The research and development of the four buildings in center area and the facade, landscape, interior and laboratory design have passed inspection by both JNU and Zhuhai city. Construction of other supporting facilities such as biomedical laboratory building, six buildings at hillside and the primary school will begin in August.

Zhuhai campus has been comprehensively improving talent introduction and cultivation, said one of the main leaders of Zhuhai campus, as well as its environment, with emphasis on four projects: apartments, basic educational system, functional buildings. The campus will take on a brand-new look with high quality, as some buildings of the Science Park are coming into service, talent apartments under construction, sports ground and indoor stadium to be renovated, dormitories and roads to be perfected.

As construction speeds up, the Science Park has been developing management, operation and research in one. JNU's Zhuhai Research Institute was officially registered and set up as a public institute with independent legal status in October 2021.

In the last few months, the institute has introduced and established seven technological enterprises, supported the completion of three major scientific team projects in Zhuhai and helped the teams obtain 50 million yuan for siting.
