The second “Sihai Home – My Home” Dormitory Culture Festival Defense Display and the first “Youth Gift for the 20th National Congress – A New Journey for a Stronger Country” short video competition award ceremony were held June 9. The events were guided by the Office of the Leading Group for the Cultivation of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Students of Jinan University, hosted by Sihai Academy and undertaken by the student delegation of Sihai College. 

Li Yuping of the Office of the Leading Group for the Cultivation of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Students reviewed achievements since the launch of this dorm culture festival and the short video competition; praised the participants from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas; and thanked the teachers and students who had worked hard to organize the relevant activities.

This dormitory culture festival consists of four sessions: dorm visit and inspection, short video competition, dormitory tacit cooperation Gand onsite defense display. Through the first three sessions, eight outstanding dormitories stood out from nearly 130 dormitories in the college and entered the final stage of the defense display.

Sihai College recently launched the first Youth Gift for the 20th National Congress – A New Journey for a Stronger Country” short video competition, with four tracks: thought leadership, fighting the pandemic, campus life and campus safety. It received nearly 30 outstanding entries from over 100 Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese students.

After preliminary selection, online voting and expert evaluation, 11 outstanding works came to the fore. Once launched, these works received a total of up to 6,000 hits and views on platforms like WeChat and BiliBili.

As the Dormitory Culture Festival ended, students said they would strive to learn from the excellent dormitories that emerged from this activity and start from the small things around them to contribute their own strength to constructing a harmonious, civilized campus.
