JNU President Song Xianzhong led a team to investigate and guide the rural revitalization work in Chengbei Town, Meijiang District, Meizhou city, Guangdong, from June 29 to 30.

In Shangcun Village, Chengbei Town, the team attended the inauguration of the Village History Museum and made field trips to projects assisted by JNU, including photovoltaic power generation, drains repair and Village History Museum. It also looked into the collective economic development, the construction of the first village-level freezer in Meijiang District, the e-commerce sales platform of Shangxin Co., Ltd., and the sales of agricultural products.

(The discussion on the research about Chengbei) 

Song thanked Chengbei Town for its support of JNU staff members and said he hoped they would continue to take root in the countryside, become one with local people and carry out the help work steadily. At the meeting, JNU donated over 4,000 books to the town.

(Field visits to the second plowing)

Later, the team visited the village to learn about industrial development, drain repair and second plowing. On behalf of JNU, Song visited the poverty-stricken families and offered subsidies.

(Free diagnosis)

In addition, the team from the First Affiliated Hospital of JNU carried out free diagnosis in the Chengbei Town health center and held a discussion with the Meijiang Health Bureau and the Meizhou Second Chinese Medicine Hospital. The team from the Jinan Extension School went to the Open University of Meijiang Meizhou for an exchange.
