JNU's Red Cross Council met and held the signing ceremony for the “Safe Campus” intelligent emergency project on June 14, World Blood Donor Day.

After deliberation, the council approved the Constitution of the Red Cross Society of Jinan University and announced its new members. JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng was elected president, and Vice President Ye Wencai and Deputy Party Secretary Sun Yuwere were elected vice presidents.

Speaking as the new chairman, Lin said his election was a great honor and put forward suggestions and expectations for the new council's work: to earnestly shoulder the responsibilities and missions of the Red Cross; to focus on the humanitarian cause and comprehensively enhance the capability to serve the university and society; to promote education in first aid in school and actively apply for the second round of first aid education pilot universities of the Ministry of Education; and to continually stimulate the development of the Red Cross's cause.
Shi Xiandong, secretary of the Party group and executive vice president of Guangdong Red Cross Society, said he hoped the new session of the board of JNU's Red Cross Society would reach a new level and contribute to Guangdong’s taking the lead nationwide in building a modern socialist country in an all-around way.

At the meeting, the signing ceremony of Tencent's Safe Campus intelligent emergency project was also held.

According to the contract, Tencent will work with JNU to build a social emergency system in four aspects -- intelligent first aid dispatching platform, deployment of automated external defibrillator equipment on campus, first aid knowledge popularization, and volunteer training -- to establish one-click first aid for teachers and students, help them master first aid knowledge and skills, and thus promote Safe Campus project.
On the same day, JNU's Red Cross Society and the Guangzhou Blood Center arranged a voluntary blood donation spot at the gate of the Zengxianzi Science Museum. Lin and Sun became the first donors.

This activity attracted 358 teachers and students to join, with nearly 100 liters of blood donated.
