School leaders, teachers and more than 30 students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as overseas Chinese, gathered in JNU's canteen hall on the morning of June 2 to make zongzi (rice dumpling), an activity unique to the Dragon Boat Festival.

Teachers and students studied the festival's origin and traditions, the types of zongzi and the skills to make them. Guided by the canteen staff, they made zongzi in various shapes.

During the activity, JNU President Song Xianzhong personally guided the students in making zongzi, listened to reports on Sihai College's Seminar of Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture and labor education activities, and warmly communicated with the students.

Ye Li-sa, a Chinese student from Turkey, holding his handmade zongzi with joy, participated in a group photo.

Sihai College volunteers from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan packaged the cooked zongzi and delivered them to dorm managers, security personnel and cleaning staff members with best wishes for a happy Dragon Boat Festival.
