JNU students from Hong Kong and Macao made a field trip to Foshan on June 11 and 12 called “Sail Foshan and Pursue Your Dream.” The trip was sponsored by JNU and the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Foshan Municipal Party Committee; undertaken by the Nanhai Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base; and supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong.
Over 30 JNU students from Hong Kong and Macao enjoyed a serious of visits over the weekend, which coincided with the 17th National Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. At Foshan Hongsheng Memorial Hall, students viewed the famous style of Choy Li Fut Kung Fu and learned it from martial artists. The hall, dating back more than 160 years, was one of the earliest Wushu associations to go global and has greatly promoted Chinese Wushu culture.

The Ancient Nanfeng Kiln and the Foshan High Kiln, both regarded as “the Living Fossil of Pottery and Ceramics,” have produced ceramics for 500 years without interruption -- rare in the world. At the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln in Shiwan, Foshan, praised as “the Pottery Capital of Southern China,” the students from Hong Kong and Macao experienced the pottery technique at first hand. During the visit, students made pottery of all shapes and sizes, guided by master potters.
They also visited the former residence of Chen Tiejun, (originally Chen Xiejun) a great Chinese female martyr, and the Patriotism Education Base in Zinan Village, one of the Top 10 Chinese Well-Off Villages. There they learned epic revolutionary stories of the older generations, as well as great achievements of modern rural construction in China.
The students then headed for the Guangdong-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and the Entrepreneurship Base and the Nanhai Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, where they learned about the current situation and experience of young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao.
