Teams from JNU won two gold medals and one silver on June 5 in the 19th Guangdong Collegiate Programming Contest organized by the Guangdong Computer Federation. This contest brought together 158 teams from 36 colleges and universities in Guangdong, including Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, Southern University of Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). In the end, 16 teams won gold medals, 31 won silver medal and 46 won bronze. Among JNU’s four teams, the Light Chaser team won the championship, ranking first for the first time.

Each team, consisting of three members and one coach, had to complete 13 Chinese programming questions within time limit, with three computers available to the team, but only the team leader’s could be programmed. Teams’ performance underwent real-time ranking based on machine evaluation. After five hours of competition, Light Chaser, with its solid algorithm foundation and cooperation to overcome challenges, won the championship; The team Rookie Divider ranked seventh and won a gold medal, and Wow! AK won the silver.
