JNU held the sixth Guangdong Graduate Academic Forum for Journalism and Communication on May 14. With the theme of Communicative Technology and Social Change in Digital Media Era, the forum adopted online discussion via Tencent Meeting, attracting more than 600 teachers and students.

Prof. Liu Tao, the school's party secretary and vice dean, presided over the opening ceremony. A subforum invited associate Prof. Liu Jun, director of the Editorial Department of the literature journal Modern Communication; Jia Mengyu, deputy editor of Media Observation, and professors in the school to be moderators and commentators.
At the opening ceremony, Prof. Ma Min, executive dean of JNU’s Graduate School, described degree management and postgraduate education at JNU and its characteristic school-running policy for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and overseas Chinese students.
Prof. Zhi Tingrong, dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, spoke on JNU's work philosophy of student cultivation. He said he hoped this academic event would be a good opportunity for communication and dialogue and wished the forum complete success.
Ph.D. and master's degree students from 60 institutions of higher learning and research institutes in China submitted 180 papers. After anonymous review by six specialists, 60 were shortlisted for 35 prizes. Prof. Zhang Jinsheng, head of Jinan University Press presented five first prizes, 10 second prizes and 20 third prizes.
