JNU's convergence journalism teacher team is one of two national journalism and communication teams selected for the second group of Huang Danian-type teacher teams in all China's colleges and universities, the Ministry of Education announced on Feb. 9. It is one of eight teams from Guangdong selected.
The team consisted of 15 teachers, including Lin Rupeng, secretary of JNU's Party committee; Zhi Tingrong, dean of the School of Journalism and Communication; and Liu Tao and Zheng Liang, professors in the same School. It has promoted the development of media convergence; media culture; network and social governance; digital marketing and communication, and other disciplines. It has also reported an all-around breakthrough in such aspects as applying for national courses, scoring a National Teaching Achievement Award, a Major Project of the National Philosophy and Social Science Foundation, a National Achievements Library of Philosophy and Social Sciences award, and an Achievement Award in the Humanities and Social Sciences by the Ministry of Education.
Zhi said the team's most important mission was to develop patriotic and interdisciplinary talents in journalism, media convergence, and media and international communication. In a comprehensive education system, students gradually become the kind of people imbued with the spirit of hard work, and cultural ambassadors between China and foreign countries by actively taking part in the professional practice of significant themes. the team has accomplished over 40 Digital Museum Projects in collaboration with Guangdong Museum, the Museum of the Nanyue King Mausoleum and other museums.
