The inspection aimed to ensure the life and property safety of faculty and staff members and students by tightening safety hazard checks, refining flood prevention measures and comprehensively reinforcing security defenses.
The inspection team, led by President Song Xianzhong, conducted a field visit to key sites on Panyu campus, including teaching buildings, underground parking, the construction site of apartments for talents and the Institute of Photonics Technology’s laboratory. Special inspections had been conducted on preparedness of flood control materials, potentially dangerous equipment; construction safety, and laboratory safety.

Deputy Party Secretary Sun Yu and Vice President Wen Jian went to the Shipai campus to inspect key sites that may suffer from flooding, such as buildings, underground parking lots, dormitories and vulnerable trees. They checked the material reserves for flood prevention; security of manhole covers; work shifts and security guarantees; and emergency rescue and relief work.
To facilitate flood prevention, leaders on the Zhuhai and Shenzhen campuses and in College of Chinese Language and Culture inspected all buildings, lakes and walls close to hills on campuses.
