Among the student representatives who met with General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visit to JNU four years ago, 35% are pursuing further education and 65% have already found their place in society. Among all JNU students at that time, more than 70% chose to stay in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. No matter where they are, they always regard their mission to be spreading traditional Chinese culture.
Kong Xianghao, then an undergraduate in the School of Stomatology, was born into a medical family and has dreamed of being a doctor since childhood. After five years of undergraduate study, he chose to pursue a master’s degree. Now he is a clinician in the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University.

Like Kong Xianghao, Hong Zichao came to JNU from Taiwan with the dream of studying clinical medicine. “The Chinese mainland boasts bigger platforms and more opportunities,” Hong said. Besides, as the saying goes, 'We should read as many as 10,000 books and travel as far as 10,000 miles,' so I want to see the world to know and learn more.”

Last summer, Hong joined the outpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University as an intern to gain more practical experience. He plans to go to graduate school in Guangzhou.
Ye Weilin, who comes from Macao, went to Fudan University two years ago to study for a graduate degree in finance. Now he is preparing for his graduation defense and has received an offer from a leading securities company. He says he looks forward to working in Shanghai to serve China.

As Secretary General of the Hong Kong Students’ Association of Canton(HKSAC), Chen Tong helps Hong Kong students in Guangzhou adapt and integrate into life here by organizing daily exchange activities. This is Chen’s life trajectory: from Hong Kong to Guangdong, acting as a bridge between the two places.
From Hong Kong to the Chinese mainland is also Zou Lifeng’s life course.
In 2021, after graduating from JNU with a degree in investment economics, Zou chose to return to Hong Kong. Working in the Kowloon Federation of Associations, he is in charge of youth development in Hong Kong, helping young people understand the national situation and participate in national construction.

Wang Yifei took the opposite route: from the Chinese mainland to Hong Kong. Wang hopes to use her professional knowledge to engage in business analysis of digital transformation based on Hong Kong's situation, aiming to contribute to financial interconnection in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
