To strengthen humanistic care for students and enrich their campus life, JNU held more than 40 cultural and sports activities during the May Day holiday.
Hosted by JNU Student Affairs Office, an orienteering competition, a concert, group dancing and club exhibitions were held on the Panyu and Shipai campuses on April 30 by the Student Activities Department, the Student Art Troupe, the Students' Union, Student Club Management Team, all student clubs and volunteers from various colleges.
That morning, the orienteering competition took place by Jinghu Lake on Panyu Campus with more than 200 participants from 22 teams. As a sport that requires decision-making skill and promotes development of intelligence, orienteering helps cultivate students' ability to think decisively and independently and the spirit of solidarity and cooperation.
The JNU Student Art Troupe and other student associations jointly presented a performance for teachers and students on April 30, displaying the beauty in youth with instruments, songs and dances. They choreographed the dance Youth to the Future with over 100 participants as the opening of the campus concert.
Twenty distinguished student associations set up stalls on both sides of Library Square.
Members of the Diabolo Club demonstrated their juggling skills. The Martial Arts Association and the Baseball and Softball Association invited spectators to experience the glamour of sports by practicing archery and playing softball. The Guitar Association and Yue Yun Fang, the Chinese classical music club, immersed their audience in music.
