JNU held a working meeting on April 14 to ensure the quality of postgraduate dissertations with Ma Min, executive dean of the Graduate School, presiding. Vice President Ye Wencai attended the meeting and spoke. In attendance were the leaders of postgraduate education on the Shipai campus and relevant staff members. In addition, over 300 people attended the meeting online, including leaders of postgraduate education, supervisors and administrators in postgraduate management. 

Ye said postgraduate education units should attach great importance to the quality of dissertations, which epitomize the quality of postgraduate education.

The meeting highlighted that postgraduate units should effectively promote the quality of education and dissertations by enhancing supervisors' responsibility for academic instruction; strengthening the examination of dissertations before they are submitted for review; optimizing the dissertation review system, standardizing the working procedure of dissertation defense secretaries, and playing the Academic Degrees Subcommittee's role in academic supervision.

Promoting the quality of postgraduate dissertations is an important aspect of improving postgraduate education and advancing the double-first-class university construction. Thus the meeting played a positive role in continuously promoting comprehensive postgraduate education reform and improving talent training quality.
