The teams of Prof. Guan Bai-ou in JNU's Institute of Photonics Technology and Prof. Zhang Dongmei in the College of Pharmacy have reported important progress in tumor diagnosis and treatment, realizing an in vivo endoscopic cancer sensing and therapy ensemble. The research results, Fiber‐Optic Theranostics (FOT): Interstitial Fiber‐Optic Needles for Cancer Sensing and Therapy, have been published in the international journal Advanced Science (IF: 16.81).
Defeating malignant tumors is a major challenge facing modern science and technology. Researchers have been striving to find faster techniques to diagnose tumors and more effective treatments. The JNU teams carried out interdisciplinary cooperation to build tumor diagnosis and treatment technology using optical fiber as a carrier.
