Jinan University hosted a symposium on top talents on Feb. 25, with Vice President Zhang Ronghua presiding. Sixteen national talent representatives and the head of the Talent Office attended.
Zhang praised JNU's achievements in talent work and congratulated newly selected talents. Being selected as top talents is not an end, he said, but the starting point of playing an important role in JNU's development.
High-level talents recognized JNU's support and gave input on constructing teaching staff and discipline platforms, reforming talent mechanisms and optimizing administrative systems based on their experiences at JNU. Viewing the selection as a new starting point and focusing on their own positions, they said they would contribute to discipline development, team integration and young teacher training.

Zhang made four requests for talent growth: that the new talents play a pivotal role, return to the essence of scientific research, take on the duty of cultural inheritance and serve society.
