A team led by Prof. Xu Anding of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University published a long research paper online on Feb. 22 in the renowned journal Circulation Research (Impact Factor: 17.367). The paper, titled CircOGDH Is a Penumbra Biomarker and Therapeutic Target in Acute Ischemic Stroke, was published with the First Affiliated Hospital as its first corresponding unit; The first authors are Yanfang Liu, a doctoral student, and postdoctoral researchers Yufeng Li and Jiankun Zang as first authors The corresponding authors are associate researcher Dan Lu, Xu and Prof. Zhijun Zeng.

Xu's team has been exploring solutions to major problems in clinical and basic research on cerebrovascular diseases. Xu has been honored as a leading Guangdong medical talent. In the last 10 years he has been responsible for more than 30 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and other provincial and ministerial level funds. He has edited, co-edited or participated in six monographs and two undergraduate textbooks, published more than 200 papers, and presided over many projects at the national and provincial levels.
