Prof. Zhou Libing and Prof. Qu Yibo's team from JNU's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Central Nervous Regeneration Institute has published a paper in Brain (IF=13.501), a renowned international journal. The paper, titled Inactivating Celsr2 Promotes Motor Axon Fasciculation and Regeneration in Mouse and Human, is the first to report that the neurodevelopment-related gene Celsr2 regulates axon regeneration in spinal motor neurons, and its role is consistent in mouse and human nerve tissue.

Postdoctoral researcher Wen Quan and doctoral student Wen Huandi are the first authors; Zhou and Qu are the corresponding authors. The research was assisted by colleagues at the Guangzhou Women and Children Medical Center and the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology. It was also supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Guangdong and Guangzhou's major science and technology projects for brain science and brainlike research.
