In the 22nd Wu Jieping-Paul Janssen Medical Pharmacy Awards, known as the Wu-Jan Awards, Prof. Ding Ke of JNU's School of Pharmacy won the pharmaceutical award. Fourteen outstanding medical and health workers in the fields of basic medicine, clinical medicine, pharmacy and public health were honored after preliminary and final evaluations.

Since 2006, focusing on major clinical needs such as tumors and metabolic diseases, Ding has designed and synthesized druglike lead compounds with both biological activity and druggability, laying the foundation for innovative drug research. His more than 200 SCI papers have been cited nearly 9,000 times. He has applied for more than 70 national and international patents with more than 60 authorized, and many of his achievements have been transferred and transformed. The Olverembatinib he developed is the first original third-generation ABL inhibitor marketed in China, filling a medication gap for drug-resistant patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in China. It also provides a Chinese solution for CML patients around the world,with great scientific, clinical and economic value.
Established in 1994, the Wu-Jan Awards recognize innovative medical, pharmaceutical and healthcare professionals in China. They were co-established by the Ministry of Health's International Exchange and Cooperation Center through non-governmental channels and Xi’an Janssen Pharmaceutical Ltd., a Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical company. The awards are intended to motivate medical and health workers to carry forward rigorous scholarship and realistic, innovative spirit, and to promote the development of China’s medical and health care. They honor and reward outstanding medical and health workers 55 and under who have made outstanding contributions to their field and are widely recognized by their peers and society.
