The volunteer service project Constructing a Community-Level 'Convergence Media' Communication System from JNU's School of Journalism and Communication received the 13th Outstanding Project Award of Chinese Youth Volunteers from the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League (CCYL) and Chinese Young Volunteers Association (CYVA) on Dec. 5. Only 100 projects in China won this award.

The project has achieved outstanding results since it was launched in November 2019. In 2020, it won the gold award in the Fifth Chinese Youth Volunteer Service Project Competition, co-hosted by seven ministries and commissions, including the CCYL, the General Office of Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. It also won the title Best Volunteer Service Project in the selection of advanced models of learn-from-Lei Feng volunteer service in Guangdong. In the Nursery Plan of Guangdong Volunteer Service Organization Growth Support Program and Volunteer Service Project Competition, the project was named the demonstration project of the special competition for civilized practice in the new era.
Established by the CCYL and CYVA, the awards for outstanding individual, organization and project of Chinese young volunteers have been presented for 13 years.
