The Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University • Heyuan Shenhe People's Hospital was officially inaugurated on Dec. 29. This hospital is of great significance to further facilitating medical treatment; improving the Heyuan public health system; and upgrading the city's medical and health diagnosis, treatment technology, medical teaching and scientific research.

Attending were Lin Tao, secretary of the Heyuan Municipal Party committee; Mayor He Guosen; Chen Qing, vice mayor of Shenzhen; JNU P arty Secretary Lin Rupeng; JNU President Song Xian, and other leaders.

As a university directly under the Central United Front Work Department, JNU is responsible for the operation and management of the hospital. The inauguration and operation of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital is a beneficial exploration of the principle of joint construction of school and regions and separation of management and establishment” for both Heyuan Municipal government and Jinan University, and an important action to promote the equalization of medical services.

By relying on the profound accumulation of medical discipline construction, Song said, JNU will continue to improve the hospital's management and is committed to building the hospital into a high-level research-oriented general hospital integrating medicine, teaching, research, prevention and rehabilitation.
